Mammary glands produce breast milk after childbirth. because mammary gland function is regulated by hormones estrogen and progesterone these hormones helpful for development of female breast.
During pregnancy Prolactin release from the anterior pitutary stimulate the production of milk, and oxytocin causes the ejection of milk from the mammary gland.
